Learning outcomes

The purpose of the course is to make students acquire the necessary tools to properly manage psychopharmacological treatments. The course includes the fundamental elements of clinical psychopharmacology, but safety aspects are placed in the foreground. In particular, the training objectives will be: a) Knowledge and understanding: knowing receptor and kinetic actions, as well as indications, methods of use, efficacy and toxicity of the main classes of psychotropic drugs. b) Applied knowledge and understanding: the student must be able to formulate a psychopharmacological treatment program, including collateral prevention and monitoring, for the most common pathologies of interest in Child Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry. c) Autonomy of judgment: the student must show that he is able to critically compare the sources of information and select those that are independent and not burdened by potential conflicts of interest. d) Communication skills: the student must know how to inform patients (or parents in the case of minors) about the various therapeutic options and share the personalized project with them. e) Ability to learn: the student must develop skills that allow him to continue his training on these topics once the course is completed.
