Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the students will know the right metodology in diagnostic and the ethiopathogenesis of the most common pathologies in horse. they will be able to suggest the best options in surgical treatment and the prognosis for the pathologies of surgical interest.

Lectures and practical teaching in four groups

Assessment methods

The learning outcomes will be assessed through a final written examination which will be held at the same time as with the internal medicine part of the course. Just at the end of the written examination, the student is requested to discuss it with the teacher. Finally, an evaluation at the end of the monthly practical training in Large animals survey will complete the final vote.

The surgery part of the written examination is composed by multiple choice questions, open answer question and free text addressing a particular topic for a total of 20 pts which needs to be converted in thirtieths. The surgery written examination are intended to be passed whenever a student attains at least 12 points, the discussion is passed with 6/10 points.

The points gained at the written examinations, oral discussion and practical examination are to be converted in thirtieths to compose the final grade as follows:

internal medicine written examination: 10 thirtieths

surgey written examination: 10 thirtieths

oral discussion: 5 thirtieths

Practical examination: 5 thirtieths
