Learning outcomes

At the end of the seminar students will be able to interpret issues related to specific historical phenomena in a diachronic and transversal perspective, thought the elaboration and synthesis of the data coming from the analysis of written records and material sources and from the collective debate originated from the contact with other people. They will be able to formulate autonomously and in an organized way a research path or an intellectual work, using the specific acquired tools with methodological rigour, precision and accuracy.

The S. will consists in lectures and group discussion of the issues proposed to promote critical individual approach and autonomous research ability.

In December the program of lessons and individual activities to be performed will be included.

Readings/Bibliography

The S. is based on the detailed studies of various aspects of the theme, by means of the multisciplinary historiographical approaches and the use of different sources. In each lesson will be reported specific references. Educational dossier will be available online.

Teaching methods

The S. consists in multisciplinary lectures, during which specific historiographical problems and specific case studies will be presented. They will be carried out by Teachers of different disciplines (history, archaeology, architectural history). In every classes there will also take place collective discussion with reporting of bibliography. The discussion promote the development of critical capacity.

Assessment methods

The assessment method consists: 1) by the continuous discussions lesson to lesson; 2) by the attendance of at least 2/3 of the meetings (signatures will be collected both at the beginning and at the end of each lesson); 3) by an essay about 8/10 pages concerning the comprehension of the issues agreed with the coordinator.
