30538 - Business Management of Cultural Heritage

Academic Year 2019/2020

Learning outcomes

The course aims at conveying the basic knowledge on the importance, from an income point of view, of the cultural heritage and on the possibilities that the social context in which the sector operators work offers to start organized activities. It is therefore clear that cultural heritage is a vehicle not only for knowledge but also for economic development. At the end of the course the student is in possession of technical and operational knowledge and tools to consider cultural assets also as economic assets and is able to start, with adequate knowledge, companies and businesses that can operate alongside the public management of cultural heritage.

Assessment methods

Attending students Those who attend 70% of the lessons are considered attending. A partial written test will be provided for them at the middle of the course. The test will consist of three open questions of equal weight in which you will be asked to argue broadly on the contents proposed up to that date; an oral examination at the end of the course in which the oral argumentative ability on the contents concerning the second part will be evaluated. This test will also include three questions of equal weight. The two tests will represent 40% each of the final evaluation. Active participation is strongly recommended and the proposed workshop and group activities will integrate the final evaluation by 20%.

For non-attending students the written exam will be held during the official appeals and will focus on the contents proposed by the text in the bibliography. The written test will consist of: 1/3 multiple choice closed questions (10 points) 1/3 questions (2) that require a concise and precise answer (5 points each) 1/3 open question where you will be asked to create links between the proposed contents and to broadly argue (10 points)
