Learning outcomes

The student will acquire a solid knowledge of the founding principles of the Italian Regional law through a deeper understanding of sources of law, the regional form of state and government. On the basis of the given criteria the student will be able to distinguish regional form of state from federal, confederate or unitary experiences, also referring to historical and comparative data.

Moreover, the student will obtain the ability to comprehend normative texts, including the Constitution, and primary and secondary sources of law.



At the end of the Course the student will be able to develop in an autonomous way research aimed at finding and application of regional law and case law.

Course contents

The course will address the study of Italian regional and local legal system through the knowledge of the structure and functions of Italian territorial authorities, in the perspective of the constitutional model and its changes introduced with constitutional statutes n. 1/1999, n. 2/2001, n. 3/2001.

Teaching methods

The course will take place partly according to the model of the classical lesson and partly in seminar form, with the active participation of the students.
During the course, in fact, the oral lesson will be integrated with the constant use of schemes and projection of slides to help understanding and will also provide some lessons in which students will be involved in the analysis of some leading cases of the Constitutional Court and in the analysis of relevant issues still pending.

The lessons will be held in the second semester so the exam can be supported starting from May 2019.
Furthermore, it should be remembered that the examination of profit can be sustained only after passing the exam of Constitutional Law.

Attendance at lessons is regulated according to the rules approved by the School of Law. However, the presence of students wishing to take the exam with the program for attending students will be documented by the Professor.

Assessment methods

The exam consists of an oral interview. The final grade will also be based on the active participation during lectures

Teaching tools

During the lessons some slides will be provided to the students, such as the case law that will be analyzed.

Supplementary material will be constantly made available to students through the web-page of the course.
