Learning outcomes

The course is designed to provide a broad introduction to topics and industries that current researchers are studying as well as to expose students to a wide variety of techniques. It will start the process of preparing students to conduct research in the area. The course integrates theoretical models and empirical studies.

Course contents

Theory of the firm; Monopolistic markets and their Regulation; Oligopoly; Price discrimination; Product Differentiation; Advertising; Entry and entrepreneurship; Firm growth and industrial dynamics;  Industrial and competition policy.
