Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide a solid knowledge of key-concepts, origin, development of Human Geography and of Cartography as a field of study. Students will be able to analyse social phaenomena in spatial perspective, according to the methodology of political, economic, urban geography and of cartography. Students will be able to analyse critically atlases, literary and historical sources to study territory and to achieve geographical information in the digital environment.

Assessment methods
The final exam, for attending and non-attending students, will consist in a written test with questions related to the books in the reading list. The examination is aimed to test the general preparation.
The exam is made up by 9 questions: 3 on the textbook, 6 on the required monographs.
Attending students will have to answer 4 questions; non-attending students 5 answers.
The evaluation of the exam will depend on contents correctness, on the accurancy and language expression in answering the questions.
Oral exam (complementary) is possible.
