Course contents

Prerequisites

It is recommended the knowledge of Mathematics and of Descriptive Statistics.

Course contents

Phases of statistical analysis. Cleaning and organisation of a real dataset. Explorative analysis and graphical representation.

Introduction to the open-source R software.

Analysis of the association between 2 or more variables and interpretation of the obtained results. Production of a statistical report with the aim of presenting the results.

All the topics are presented and developed using the tools provided by Microsoft Excel and R.

Practical lectures in the computer laboratory.

Assessment methods

Final test in the laboratory to evaluate the acquired analysis and reporting skills.
