Academic Year 2018/2019

Course contents

Making reference to the main concepts and topics of sociology of labour (the division of labour, the job contents, the analysis of the labour market, etc.) and of sociology of organization (the structure, the environment, the culture, etc.), the focus will be on the following topics:

  • the changes in organisation of work in the manufacturing and in the services sector;
  • the labour market regulation;
  • the changes in the labour market.

Teaching methods

Lectures, classroom discussions and e-learning (optional assignments, available from 5 November 2018 to 15 January 2019, https://iol.unibo.it/).

The three e-learning assignments include: the critical analysis of a scientific article; a job analysis on the basis of the expected recruitments by companies; the discussion of a current topic.



Assessment methods

Written test with open-ended questions (4 questions, 1 hour) aiming to verify the acquisition of the knowledge provided in the course programme.
