Learning outcomes

The student learns the basic science of the most important surgical disease of small bowel and principles of surgical treatment. This is useful to learn how to manage small bowel in reconstruction for urological diseases as bladder tumor. principles for diagnosis and treatment of adrenal gland tumor are also presented

Course contents

- Anatomy and fisiology of small bowel

- Benign and malignant tumor of small bowel

- Crohn's disease

- Basic principles of resection and reconstruction of small bowel, as well as bowel anastomoses. Morbidity. Different types of stoma

- Colorectal malignant tumor

- Classification, diagnosis and treatment of diverticulitis

- Anatomy and fisiology of adrenal gland

- feocromocitoma, Cushing syndrome and disease

- Kidney transplantation: Indication and basic principles of technique
