Learning outcomes

Students will acquires the ability to understand the social, cultural, organizational and economic phenomena, using the perspective of psychological and relational processes that may affect the system of representations, cognitions, emotions, motivations and actions of individuals and social groups at different levels (individual, interpersonal, intra and inter-groups, organizational, collective, cultural, and institutional).

Course contents

Organizational culture and organizational climate: their role in practice;

Culture and safety climate;

The work motivation and motivation to safety;

Psychosocial risk factors and their impact on employees and organizations;

Work related stress;

Participation and involvement within the organizational context,  work teams and for workplace safety.

Readings/Bibliography

Students will study printed documents (for the most part scientific articles) provided by the teacher during the lessons.

Teaching methods

Didactic methods that will be used to improve the students' knowledge are: lecture & questions, group work assignments and exercises, student oral presentation and brief student summaries.

Assessment methods

The final exam will consist of a written test (15 closed questions and 3 open-ended questions).

If necessary, the teacher will potentially request a quick oral examination focused on additional details concerning the answers provided by students.

Teaching tools

The following teaching tool will be adopted during the lessons:

  • PowerPoint presentations,
  • Exercises on the main topics explored during the lessons,
  • Printed articles,
  • Practical tools that could be adopted in practical situations.
