Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is able to known principles and methodologies for evaluating cancer risk in whole population and workers.
Course contents
The course will be held during the second semester (between March and April)

- mechanisms linking excessive caloric intake and insulin resistance

At the beginning of the integrated course (I.C.), students will receive indication on updated didactic materials produced in electronic format by other professors teaching General pathology (MED/04) in different graduate courses. These materials are stored on AMS Campus AlmaDL University of Bologna website: http://campus.unibo.it/ . Username and password are those given to each student of the University of Bologna.
Moreover, ad hoc software programs will be made available

Assessment methods
Oral final examination aims to evacuate achieving of didactic objectives and therefore in the depth of knowledge as to general pathology:
- Molecular pathology
- Cellular pathology
- tissue pathology
- organ diseases
and risk assessment with particular emphasis on pathological effects like: mutagenesis and carcinogenesis by chemical, physical and biological agents.
Final vote takes into account the synthesis of final evaluations of different subjects belonging to the I.C. of Risk Evaluation. Each single evaluation is integrated in order to obtain the unique final vote (max performance 30 points). Such vote is the average of votes obtained on specific questions on subjects and main objectives of the I.C. examination is passed if votes in each subjects are not lower than 18 points.
