Learning outcomes

The studen will know the theoretical aspects, the instrumental techniques and the methods to make a compositional analysis of chemical systems from the biological and antropological sources in the environment.

Course contents

Main thermodynamic principles and cinetics chemistry aspects;

Chemistry of the water, and problem tied with their pollution;

Concentraztions of principal pollutants;

Assesment of the environmental state in reference with the laws;

Main aspects of antropic pressure on the water;

Main aspects of physical-chemistry  of the atmosphere;

Pollution of the troposphere under different formation and development conditions;

Primary and secondary pollutants: NOx, O3, CO, SO2, Aerosols;

Global warming pollutants;

Ozonosphere;

Emissiony inventory: main sectors;

Mass flow mass calculations;

Sampling and analysis methods of pollutnts;

Measures unit for the p different pollutants;

Models for the simulation of air quality.

Teaching methods

The course is organized with frontal lessons.

Assessment methods

the final test (exam) is dobne t o evaluate the reaching of the educational objectives:

- knowledge of the  main chemical pissues in the environment;

- knowledge of the main sampling and analysis methods of air and water;

- knowledge of the main environmental laws;

The exam will be written with multiple choice tests.
