Learning outcomes

To know the anatomy of the fascial tissue and its biomechanics within the muscular fibers.

To learn about the assessment of the patient according to the Fascial Manipulation tecnique by Luigi Stecco.

To approach a treatment of a densification inside the fascial tissue

Course contents

Anatomy of the fascial achitecture

The istology of the dense connective tissue

Fascia as the element for the muscular coordination

Fascial biomechanics: the Miofascial Unit (MFU)

The alteration of the dense connective tissue: the meaning of the "densification"

Assessment and treatment of a patient according to the Fascial Manipulation tecnique:

  • anamnesis
  • hypotesis
  • motor and palpatory evaluation

Teaching methods

Frontal lessons

Assessment and treatment of a patient by the teacher

Practical sessions of palpation between the students

Practical sessions of treatment between the students

Assessment methods

At the end of the course, the student feel an on-line questionary. He has a maximum number of error not to exceed. He can repeat the test twice. If the number of errors is exceeded, he is required to have a personal session with the teacher

Teaching tools

The first theoretical part of this course will be held with the intention to stimulate the best interaction between teacher and students to integrate and support the contents learned by the students.

In the second practical part is scheduled a Fascial Manipulation treatment on a real clinical case and several palpatory experiences of the students betwee each others
