Learning outcomes


As far as relevant, knowledge of physiopathology, semeiotics and clinical and instrumental therapy of cardiovascular disease.

Course contents

Cardiovascular implications of changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, diuresis, and body temperature.

Diagnosis of cardiac pain: stable angina, unstable angina, myocardial infarction; and other non-ischemic causes (aortic disorder aneurysm, pericarditis).

Chronic ischemic heart disease and acute coronary syndrome.

Heart failure (chronic and acute). Nurse role in the treatment of disease progression.

ECG and other instrumental examinations in cardiology (ECG, stress test, ultrasound, scintigraphy, angiography, magnetic resonance imaging, new endovascular imaging techniques) indications of their use and limit.

Classification and basis of bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias). Atrial fibrillation.

Tasks and priorities of nursing staff in cardiovascular emergencies.
