Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will have a preparation that allows him to recognize, diagnose and deal with simple cases of maintenance of the dental implants. In particular, the student is able to: - have a knowledge of systems and their components - learn and know what are the most important factors related to the patient that improve the prognosis of the implants - to know the anatomical differences between the tissues around the teeth and dental implants - to know what are the main evidence on the success and survival of implants and what are the determining factors with particular emphasis on patient hygiene - diagnosing the main peri-implant disease - recognize the indications for the treatment of peri-implant diseases - recognize and use appropriately the main tools used for the cleaning and maintaining implants - plan the maintenance of the implants - to know how to attend to implant surgery.

Assessment methods

Questionnaire with open-ended questions. Oral exam based on the answers of the written assignment.
