Professional Profile
Pursuant to Decree no. 270 of 22 October 2004 of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, for the academic year 2026-2027, Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, with Bologna as the administrative seat, will run a II-level executive master's program in “Training and Education in Social Innovation” (TESI – TN MASTER). The executive TESI – TN MASTER is initiated at the proposal of the Political and Social Sciences Department, in cooperation with the University of Tirana and the University of San Marino. The TESI – TN MASTER intends to form “Social Innovators" able to design, implement, and promote innovative social solutions and tools to respond to contemporary social issues within Public Administrations and social organizations in the Adriatic-Ionic Area. Moreover, the TESI – TN MASTER aims to strengthen networks of practitioners working in this field to support regional development. The TESI – TN MASTER provides both theoretical and practical knowledge, together with hands-on experience. With this aim, each teaching module includes workshops and laboratories led by academic staff and social innovation practitioners, introducing students to real-life case studies and equipping them with technical skills for designing innovative social solutions. Beyond providing theoretical and technical knowledge on social innovation’s debates and methodologies, the TESI – TN MASTER focuses on five macro-topics: migration and social integration, inclusion of vulnerable groups, corporate social responsibility and social economy, urban and rural regeneration, education and youth empowerment. These topics are covered in the TESI – TN MASTER, including a theoretical introduction to the social problem and experiential workshops that enable participants to apply knowledge through simulations, case studies, and collaborative problem-solving activities. Lecturers also include a series of transversal themes: digital solutions, gender equality, ethnicity and class, ethics and values, and political cultures and structures.
