At the end of the internship the student is able to choose independently and apply the methods learned; acquire additional practical knowledge in some specific professional areas of the degree program; interpret and expose the results obtained from the application of the methodologies to the available data, with specific reference to the application context; develop interdisciplinary work skills in teams.
Course contents
At the end of the internship the student acquires a direct knowledge of a working environment coherent with their studies in statistics. The student develops a deep understanding of the organization she/he's working in and is able to conduct and organize statistical analyses useful to answer empirical questions of interest. She/he also enhances abilities to work in teams.
The internship can be developed within the department of Statistical Sciences as RAship or outside as a traditional curricular internship.
- RAship: at the Department of Statistical Sciences. This internal internship consists of a research activity under the supervision of a faculty member of CLAMSEI (or of another member of the Department of Statistical Sciences of the University of Bologna) on a specific research project. The person in charge for RAships (RAship Coordinator) is Dott. Matteo Farnè (matteo.farne@unibo.it).
- The traditional curricular internship is developed on the basis of a training project agreed with a host organization. Internships may be carried out at either University structures or other institutions, both in Italy and abroad.
In order to select your host institution, you can consult the internship offers published on Tirocini online [https://tirocini-studenti.unibo.it/tirocini/studenti/loginStudenti.htm] and apply directly to the ones most suitable to you.
