Learning outcomes

At the end of the seminar (activity strictly related to the objectives of the degree course) students acquire specific skills and notions to deal with linguistic and/or philological and/or literary and/or historical and/or artistic issues and problems. The seminar aims to provide tools and skills necessary for the design, management and implementation of international cultural events  focused on the promotion of Japanese culture in Italy and vice versa of Italian culture in Japan.

Course contents

NipPop 2025 - WORDS AND FRAMES FROM TOKYO TO BOLOGNA

The seminar implies the students' involvement in the organization and management of NipPop (30 hours), with a focus on:

- planning
- social and website management

The seminar will focus on training activities (10 hours ca.) and activities consisting of the design and realisation of event-related contents (approx. 20 hours). For this second part, working groups, supervised by the teacher, will be created via Virtual and Teams. The goal is to achieve transversal competences: experience and skills in cultural events management, in web communication, team working and problem solving.

The event focuses on contemporary Japan and on the different kinds of cultural trends and products spreading from the Japan and reaching many countries including Italy. The rich programme includes moments of critical reflection, with talks on different topics - e.g. literature, art, manga, music, cinema - by scholars and researchers from famous international centres, and artists performances and workshops; NipPop encourage exchange with the audience, with roundtables and interviews with authors and artists, but also screenings and much more.


Students who are unable to attend should contact the teacher in advance.


Note: proficiency in Japanese language is not required for attending the seminar.

Texts and materials will be available online, on the Virtuale platform, at the beginning of the course.

Teaching methods

Seminars and workshops. The active participation of students in activities and working groups is essential for the achievement of educational goals.

Assessment methods

The exam consists of several partial tasks, linked to the activities carried out in the working groups, to be completed in order to obtain the eligibility of 3 cfu.
