Learning outcomes
The workshop introduces students to the knowledge of the main tools of legal research with the aid of traditional tools and internet, as well as the main drafting techniques of legal, administrative, and judicial Italian acts, EU's and of some foreign countries. At the end of the workshop the student is able to:
- know the basics notions necessary to search for legislative documents, bills, of Italian, EU and some foreign countries legislation.
- understand the mechanisms and use the tools that allow exegesis of the legal texts.
- draw up a legal document
Course contents
Attendance is compulsory: at least 70% of the scheduled hours.
The first part of the program consists in a comprehensive overview on legal documents (sources of law, judicial, and administrative acts) of Italian, EU and of some foreign countries legislation, and tools of legal research. Teacher will explain the main databases for legal research and students will simulate research on specific issues of topical legal.
A second part will be dedicated to the study of the main drafting techniques of legal, administrative and judicial acts. Professor and, in some lessons, technical experts, provide students with the techniques to achieve a simulation of legal document.

Students work on sources, databases and training materials provided during the course.

Teaching methods
Course is composed of: lectures aimed at explaining basic sources and search methods, laboratory work aimed at learning by doing main searches for legal documents and database
Assessment methods
The exam consists in intermediate written tests that , according to the subject matter, can concern in research of legal material, reading and interpretation of legislation and case law. Students will be evaluated at the end of each test (with a synthetic mark) in order to achieve the suitability to the workshop: one of the evaluation criteria is based mainly on the capacity of the student to summarize and to strictly focus on the answer of the question given
Teaching tools
Individual PC and Internet access, video projector, Power point, legal databases.
Students are invited to held a personal Hard Disk or USB stick to save material used in class.
