All degree programmes will guarantee online training during the first semester of a.y. 2020/21 or for as long as Covid-19 related restrictive measures are enforced. TOLC tests and enrolment in degree programmes will be online, exam and graduation sessions will also be performed remotely and the same will be done for classes and training activities. Students will be able to begin and continue their academic path without restrictions.
Despite how the global health emergency will evolve, the University of Bologna confirms the possibility of distance learning for its next academic year, because it is currently not feasible to establish when in-class teaching can be resumed regularly. At the moment, teaching and training activities as well as exam and graduation sessions are online. First, second and single cycle degree programmes will guarantee the same online mode during the first semester of a.y. 2020/21 or for as long as the restrictive measures against Covid-19 are enforced.
In the meantime, the University is also planning to resume in-class teaching activities from the first semester of a.y. 2020/21, in compliance with the indications of the health authorities. For the foreseeable future, the Alma Mater therefore envisages a blended teaching mode in which students will attend both in class and online. This system safeguards students' inclusiveness, as well as the University's international vocation, while waiting to get back to teaching and learning in class. The University, on the one hand, is working to equip all classrooms with the necessary technology and, on the other hand, is designing the necessary changes to teaching modes These changes are being developed with the help of the teaching and research staff members of the Teaching Innovation Center (LINK) in order to train the teaching staff to continuously improve their activities.
At the moment, the University of Bologna is providing all its teaching activities online. Following the restrictive measures to fight the Covid-19 outbreak issued last February, the University as been working to radically change its organizational structure so that classes, exam and graduation sessions could progress into the second semester of a.y. 2019/20 and students could regularly carry on their academic path despite the coronavirus emergency.
Moreover, thanks to AlmaOrienta Virtual Fair on May 14 and 15, prospective students from Italy and from all over the world will have the chance to get information on more than 200 degree programmes of the University of Bologna, on TOLC admission tests as well as on enrolment procedures for a.y. 2020/21.
Alma Mater offers to its community a vast array of online services. Everyone can join the University's MOOC modules (Massive Open Online Course) on the platform "BOOK - Unibo Open Knowledge" with its online free courses on cross-sectional topics. Finally, the University Library System continues to provide its remote services as well as access to its electronic catalogue.
