“I’ll take care of you” (“Avrò cura di te”): a new University project for the Unibo community


"I'll take care of you" is about new measures promoting the life-work balance of people working and studying at the University of Bologna. This project intends to provide professional psychological support to employees and students who are also caregivers within their families and has been recently discussed by the Academic Senate.

Evolution and diseases: in some east-Asian populations genomic adaptations to a rice-based diet mitigate the risk of obesity and diabetes


Populations of China, Korea and Japan first adopted rice as their main source of nutrition more than 10,000 years ago. As a result, they have developed genomic adaptations that are protecting them from the risks entailed by the westernization of their diets.

Artificial Intelligence and fractal dimension for monitoring ataxia

A new Unibo-led project won the Spring Seed Grant by Telethon Foundation. Researchers will work to develop innovative techniques and cutting-edge computational approaches to fight rare and extremely debilitating diseases such as Friedreich's and spinocerebellar ataxia.
