Contents of the Library

Books, magazines, multimedia materials, dissertations, etc... owned by the Biomedical, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering Library

The  Biomedical, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering Section’s collection mainly consists of books, magazines, digital and multimedia materials and dissertations related to the core subjects of the relative Degree Programmes.

The material in the library is not located on open bookcases accessible to everyone, so users must contact the library staff in order to consult or borrow them.

The Biomedical, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering Section has a collection of over 4000 books on study and research, purchased by or donated to the University. These can all be searched for in the University’s OPAC. The library has implemented the Dewey Decimal Classification (CDD) for the classification of its materials. This is a simple, practical system adopted by many libraries in Italy and abroad which enables the books to be arranged on the shelves according to their subject matter.

Users can search for all the printed and online magazines owned by the Library in the OPAC of the ACNP (Italian Union Catalogue of Serials). At the moment, the library does not have any subscriptions to printed magazines.

Multimedia materials

The library hosts a small collection of CDs/DVDs. This material can be searched for in the University’s OPAC  and consulted in the computer workstations in the Study Room, or borrowed in line with the same procedures and criteria in place for book loans.

The library holds a number of dissertations of the Engineering Degree Programmes in Cesena discussed until Session II of academic year 2010/2011 on CD-ROM. These can be searched in the University’s OPAC. Dissertations written later are deposited in the University’s institutional dissertations archive, the AMS Tesi di Laurea. To learn how to consult this, please see the page offering detailed information about dissertations.
