Grants for studying abroad funded by the university departments

A variety of activities, including the award of study grants for learning experiences abroad, are carried out in the field of Right to Higher Education.

General information

Periodically the university departments launch special calls for applications.
Generally, to apply students must:

  • Be undergraduates of the University of Bologna, be about to graduate or have graduated no later than six months earlier, for activities related to the publication of an article on the subject of their dissertation;
  • Produce a detailed draft of the dissertation or analytical description of the learning experience with an indication of the destination and period to be spent abroad, validated by their academic supervisor;
  • Know the language of the host country or the English language.

The methods of participation and documentation required vary from case to case, and are detailed in the calls.

Other information

  • Duration of the period abroad: maximum six months;
  • Amount of the study grants: the study grant is a partial contribution to the costs of the period spent abroad. The amount of each study grant - currently between €1,000 and €3,100 - varies according to destination and duration of the mobility period;
  • Incompatibility with other benefits: the grants for studying abroad are incompatible with other funds obtained for the same period of mobility;
  • Reporting: at the end of the mobility period, the grantee must produce appropriate documentation to prove the effective performance of the study activities.

The calls for applications are published on the Calls and competitions websites.
