Conoscenze e abilità da conseguire

By the end of the workshop students will have an in-depth knowledge of the main tools in a selection of innovative archaeological topics, and know how to apply them to assigned individual activities. They will be able to address specific topics with an in-depth description of methods and data theories, achieving maturity and independence in their scientific research. They will understand the main scientific debates of recent prehistory, expounding critical points of view based on the main evidence from material culture.

Contenuti

The Senior Seminars are the premier archaeology and heritage seminar series in English language at the University of Bologna, and are connected to the Master course “Applied Critical Archaeology and Heritage”.
The range of topics is extremely diverse, covering the whole multidisciplinary spectrum of current archaeology and heritage research.

Due to the current situation, this year the series will be held on-line on the Microsoft Teams platform.

Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento

Students are expected to attend at least six (6) lectures. Senior seminar is a pass/no pass class and, in order to get 6 credits (CFU), students are required to deliver a 3000-word paper on seminars attended to maurizio.cattani@unibo.it by registering on AlmaEsami one week before the exam date, starting from the first session scheduled in June. Students do not need to be present at the exam.

Strumenti a supporto della didattica

Teaching tools will be established according to each lecture, and teaching resources will be added on Virtuale platform.
