Exemption from the Italian language test and from the quota for international students

Non-EU students resident abroad and in possession of the following certificates are exempted from the Italian language test and may enrol in addition to the specific quota of reserved places for non-EU students resident abroad.

Candidates for First Cycle Degree Programmes and Single Cycle Degree Programmes:

  • 5-year or 4-year secondary school diploma obtained from Italian schools abroad;
  • one of the secondary school leaving qualifications listed on Annex 2 of the provisions of the MIUR of April 8th 2015 
  • supplementary certificate attached to the high school diploma obtained in Argentina certifying that the study programme included Italian language teaching for at least 5 years;
  • Italian language and culture diploma awarded by the Universities for Foreigners in Perugia and Siena at the end of a study programme lasting at least one academic year;
  • Italian language competence certificates corresponding to levels C1 and C2 of the Council of Europe, issued within the CLIQ system (Certificazione Lingua Italiana di Qualità) by the University of Rome III, Universities for Foreigners in Perugia or Siena, and "Dante Alighieri" Society, also in agreement with Italian cultural institutions abroad or other institutions.

Candidates for Second Cycle Degree Programmes:

  • Italian language and culture diploma awarded by the Universities for Foreigners in Perugia and Siena at the end of a study programme lasting at least one academic year;
  • Italian language competence certificates corresponding to levels C1 and C2 of the Council of Europe, issued within the CLIQ system (Certificazione Lingua Italiana di Qualità) by the University of Rome III, Universities for Foreigners in Perugia or Siena, and "Dante Alighieri" Society, also in agreement with Italian cultural institutions abroad or other institutions.
