73347 - LABORATORIO DI FORMAZIONE PROFESSIONALE PER L'EDUCATORE NEI SERVIZI PER L'INFANZIA I (G.G)

Academic Year 2017/2018

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Educator In Childhood Social Services (cod. 8775)

Learning outcomes

When the workshop concludes, students:

  • will be able to apply the specific techniques that they have learned both independently and in the context of projects organized by institutions;
  • will know how to apply the specific knowledge learned to a variety of types of service;
  • will know how to evaluate the limitations and benefits of the technical tools learned;
  • will know how to transfer the technologies learned to a variety of contexts by making personal modifications and additions to them.

Course contents

The purpose of the workshop is to provide students with an opportunity to explore the world of books, picture books, and narratives for very young children by means of practical and group activities. Knowledge of the most important and creative narrative and publishing sectors for the 0-3 age range is an important professional asset for educators in infant services: for an educator, familiarity with the illustrated book and oral storytelling sector means mastery of some of the tools most efficacious in stimulating, enriching, and strengthening the creativity and intelligence of a Child. The workshop will be dealing with didactic themes (e.g. pictures books) linked to the course contents (Children's Literature).

Inscription to the workshop on Almaesami website.

Readings/Bibliography

It is suggested that students read Marcella Terrusi "Albi illustrati. Leggere, guardare, nominare il mondo nei libri per l'infanzia", Carocci Editore, Rome 2012.

Teaching methods

Activities will be mainly carried out through work in small groups and guided visits to institutions of significance for the early childhood publishing sector, such as libraries with reading areas for children. The student groups will always consist of the same members so as to give continuity to their work and objectivity to the final evaluation of the materials developed by each team.

Assessment methods

During each meeting, small groups of students will develop materials for reflection and detailed study on the topics that they have addressed. Learning is assessed by a final evaluation of these materials by the course professor: evaluation of the level of the involvement in the activities of the workshop.

The final score will not be based on /30; it will be a qualification ("workshop passed"/"workshop not passed").
