Learning outcomes

The student is able to acquire an appropriate knowledge for the execution of the main techniques of study of organs and systems through the application of planar and tomographic scintigraphic techniques, radiation protection devices, the correct use of equipment in Nuclear Medicine and patient preparation procedures. It is able to acquire an appropriate knowledge of the main technical characteristics of radiotherapy equipment, of the main methods of immobilization and simulation, of the main techniques of execution of the treatments, of the main methods of customization of the treatment field and of the techniques of execution of verification of the treatments. He knows and applies an appropriate relationship with the patient and a correct behavior with the staff of the various roles of the NHS.

About 200 hours dedicated to the practical internship guided on 1.5 T. 60 hours in PET TC 60 hours in Nuclear Medicine for scintigraphy on outpatients or hospitalized 30 hours in Radiometabolic Therapy 60 hours in BreastOlogy level II 90 hours of Radiotherapy including the IORT 100 hours in PS , emergency room, operating room, night shifts or holidays.

Assessment methods

Practical assessment on patient on 1.5T MRI equipment: the examination is practical directly on the patient on prescription. The student in total autonomy, evaluated by a commission of 3 expert radiographers including the Director of Education of the degree course, must perform the MRI exam by choosing the correct devices, the right protocol, knowing how to modify the sequence parameters and discuss the anatomy and MRI pathology. Recognize and correct any artifacts and assist the patient on all parties.
