Learning outcomes

At the end of this course the student acquires knowledges about: - basic pharmacology and toxicology for the prevention and maintenance of health in relation to environment and lifestyles, across the lifespan; - the various relationship issues between drug use and objective and subjective factors of wellness and health as well as life quality.

ENVIRONMENT and INDIVIDUALS

Concepts of hazard, risk and safety for human health

Natural and built environment affecting human health

Hazard identification, risk perception, risk and safety management

DRUG USE in INDIVIDUALS

How drugs act in individuals

Factors modifying the effects of drugs: age, gender, life style and diseases

Pharmacological and toxicological aspects of drug abuse

QUALITY of LIFE (QoL) and WELL-BEING of INDIVIDUALS

Concepts of QoL, objective and subjective Well-being

Quantitative measurement: human development index, world happiness report and other measures

Assessment methods

The exam consists in a written test with three open questions aimed at assessing the student's understanding and knowledge of the topics set out during the course.

The open questions will be selected from a known list of open questions that student will find in https://virtuale.unibo.it/.

The written test will be performed at https://eol.unibo.it/. The student will have 30 minutes to answer each open question. The final mark is the sum of the points obtained for each open question. The student can get a maximum score of 10 for each open question to obtain the final mark of 30/30.
