Academic Year 2022/2023

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Ravenna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Building Engineering (cod. 9199)

Learning outcomes

To provide solid mechanics tools aimed at determining stress and strain in beams subjected to: axial, bending, torsion and shear forces. To provide the basic knowledge on the mechanical properties of materials, experimental methods and quality control procedures. To make the students in the position to solve hyperstatic structures and perform structural safety assessment.

Course contents

Requirements/Prior knowledge

A prior knowledge and understanding of Mathematics and Physicsis required to attend the course proficiently.

All lectures will be in Italian. It is therefore necessary to understand the Italian language to take advantage of the course and to use the provided teaching material.

  • PASCALE, Scienza delle costruzioni: esercizi d'esame svolti, Esculapio - Progetto Leonardo, Bologna.

Teaching methods

The course content will be entirely covered by the lectures. The course consists in lectures and on sessions devoted to exercises, which will cover the practical aspects of the lectures. The instructors will supervise students during the laboratory activities.

Assessment methods

The exam does not refer to this teaching module, but to the integrated course of Mechanics of solids and structures T.

The exam consists in a single session and includes one written exercise (solution of a structure or study of a section) and questions on every part of the theory and its applications.

Teaching tools

The teaching tools are graphic table, projector and PC.
