Learning outcomes

At the end of the internship, the students have an in-depth knowledge of practical activities related to the work of the archaeologists, through experiences in public bodies such as museums, archaeological superintendents, local institutions responsible for the safeguard of cultural heritage, organizers of events related to archaeological tourism, publishers specialized in archaeology. They has started to put into practice knowledge related to both study and work experience, and they mature a judgmental autonomy to solve specific problems, or to make specific projects or research works. Likewise, they are able to communicate to a diversified audience, to apply and to update their skills within the three learning areas provided by the CdS: historical-artistic and epigraphic, with particular reference to the methodological area.

Course contents

Internships consist of a work experience that can be carried out at organizations, companies, and other international partners (including partner universities which offer job placement projects). Partners regularly publish their offers in a special database that can be consulted by students. The procedure for activating an internship is described in detail on the course pages. Please read the instructions carefully.

He content will be agreed with the Host Institution and verified by the academic tutor, and should correspond to the objectives of the Course of Study.

Orientation meetings are held at the beginning of each academic year with also the presence of social partners, enabling students to orient themselves in the different opportunities offered by the institutions.

Readings/Bibliography

No reading is required, besides the activities required by the Internship.

There are no texts to suggest, but they will be indicated from time to time by the host institution.

Teaching methods

Internship is a work experience where methodologies to acquire and consolidate specific competences and skills are individually agreed for each student between the student, the host institution and the university tutor and are formalized in the internship program, at the discretion of the host institution.

As concerns the teaching methods of this course unit, all students must attend Module 1, 2 [https://www.unibo.it/en/services-and-opportunities/health-and-assistance/health-and-safety/online-course-on-health-and-safety-in-study-and-internship-areas] on Health and Safety online, required by Host Institutions for insurance reasons.

Assessment methods

Assessment of the Internship experience (and the thershold for the pass/non pass finale grade) is fixed individually in the internship program. The host institution will certify the activities carried out and complete an online survey questionnaire. Students are also required to complete a final questionnaire and briefly summarize the results of the experience to the responsible teacher according to what is contained in the instructions on the links above.

Assesment will be done by the academic tutor through contacts with the Host Institution and will consist of monitoring the established program. At the end, the documents entered (attendance diary, final report and questionnaires filled in by the intern and the Institution) will be checked, then minutes will be taken. Minutes are taken by the indicated academic tutor.
