Learning outcomes

At the end of the Course the Student:

- will be able to collaborate with other professionals in the multidisciplinary treatment of eating disorders and in the integrated treatment of obesity

- will know the main techniques of conducting therapeutic educational groups and guided self-help groups

Course contents

1. Psychological disorders in metabolic diseases (obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome)
2. Theory and practice of motivational interviewing
3. Therapeutic education: individual treatment and group sessions
4. Interventions for weight loss and maintenance of weight loss (including e-Health and m-Health interventions)
5. Adherence to diet and physical activity programs: similarities and differences in the stage of change
6. The psychobiological effects of fasting (in the different declinations) in the context of weight loss

Lectures, practical labs in small groups, role-playing, participation in therapeutic education groups

Assessment methods

Informal evaluation tests during the Course at the request of the students.
Final exam by interview with the Teacher.

Teaching tools

Use of the Virtuale platform to store content (slides, videos, bibliographic material).
Students with Specific Learning Disorders (DSA) - after registering with the dedicated Unibo service - can make use of adaptations in the provision of teaching by informing the Teacher before the start of the Course.
