Learning outcomes

The student is able to understand and produce a wide range of complex written and spoken texts in German, in a fluent and idiomatic way.

Course contents

The main objective of the course is to deepen and consolidate the skills relevant to textual comprehension and production and oral interaction.

The course continues with the study of the topics dealt with in the previous year, with particular focus on:

• morphological, syntactical, phonetic and lexical structures of standard German;

• language variation, with particular reference to differences in register;

• the phenomena of linguistic contact;

• the dynamics of bilingual communication;

• the question of reliability of sources, selection and veracity of information;

• the knowledge and use of lexicographical tools and online resources (different types of dictionaries, corpora, data bases).

Students are expected to achieve a competence level between B2 and C1.

Teaching methods

Lectures, exercises, group work.

The didactic and learning process is dynamic and requires the active participation by the student.

This course will be supported by separate language training sessions (lettorato), aimed at supporting and consolidating writing and speaking skills. Students shall attend at least 70% of course lessons and training sessions.

Assessment methods

Assessment in progress: Active cooperation by the student; written tasks, assigned at regular intervals.

Final assessment: The final examination consists of a written test and an oral test.

The written test includes

- a text with open questions and the development of a theme;

- a test of grammar and vocabulary;

- a summary of an audio text.

The oral test (subject to passing the written test) includes verification of the ability to discuss

- a dossier of previously assigned texts, with verification of comprehension and reformulation capacity.

The evaluation criteria are:

- knowledge, organization and reworking of the contents;
- morphosynthetic correctness;
- lexical properties and variety;
- communicative effectiveness;
- clarity and correctness of pronunciation.

The total mark for the examination in LINGUA E MEDIAZIONE TEDESCA III (SECONDA LINGUA) is the average between the mark for this module and the one for INTERPRETAZIONE DI TRATTATIVA TEDESCA II (SECONDA LINGUA).
