Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will know the basic principles about the most important diseases caused by pathogen microorganisms

Course contents

  1. General principles about diagnosis and therapy of infectious diseases.
  2. Respiratory tract infections: flu, alveolar and interstitial pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis
  3. Endocarditis
  4. Gastro-intestinal infections: cholera, minor salmonellosis
  5. Viral hepatitis
  6. Infectious osteomyelitis, infectious arthritis
  7. Viral Hepatitis
  8. Viral and bacterial meningitis
  9. Arthropod-borne infections: Lyme disease
  10. Sepsis
  11. Covid-19
  12. HIV infection and AIDS

Teaching methods

The assessment examination will be performed by a written test including multiple-choice questions regarding all the presented topics.
