Students will become acquainted with the main issues underlying the regulation of the pharmaceutical sector, and in particular of the introduction of new drugs and medical devices, and the pricing of drugs

The economics of intellectual property

The private and social value of new drugs

Patents in the pharmaceutical sector

The regulation of new drugs and the way regulation interacts with patent protection

The regulation of new drug pricing

The exhaustion of patent rights and parallel trade
