Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student: - has competence in analyzing the efficiency of the effector system and the static and dynamic postural response using modern ergometric, metabolimetric, posturometric and proprioceptive technologies; - will be able to plan the kinesiological intervention aimed at the consolidation of the state of form, at the prevention of atrophic degenerative morbid conditions, at the disposition and control of physical exercise in trophostatic syndromes, in the alterations of the capacity of the cardio-circulatory system and in the recovery of different physical abilities; - has precise knowledge of the principles and methodology for assessing joint mobility and muscle strength as essential elements for the accurate assessment of the current state of a subject, his progress and the effectiveness of the physical training program. - will have solid skills in assessing the mobility of various joint complexes with methodologies to measure each joint movement and will also be able to administer tests for the manual examination of muscle strength in different postures and attitudes.

Readings/Bibliography

The student is informed that the in-depth study of the topics requires constant updating correlated to new instrumental technologies and scientific evidence regarding the various application methodologies. Precisely for this reason and also for the multiplicity of topics, the lessons will take place with the help of the slides that will serve as a reference for further insights with the recommended texts. To follow the lessons it is advisable to refer to the didactic material deposited during the previous academic year and then integrate it with the lessons held in the classroom. For each topic treated, reference books or publications will be recommended.


The course does not have a single reference text.

Teaching methods

Lectures for basic topics, supplemented by exercises with organized groups and with compulsory attendance.


During the course, seminars will be organized by highly qualified personnel and concerning application aspects. The topics of the seminars held will form an integral part of the program and may be subject to verification during the examination

Assessment methods

The verification method is written. The written test will aim to verify the possession of a sufficient knowledge of the basic notions of the discipline. The test will consist of 30 multiple choice questions and some open-ended questions

Teaching tools

The lessons will be accompanied by visual and audiovisual aids. As part of the practical exercises, the course has equipment for the assessment and teaching of motor activity in reference to Adapted Physical Activity


Didactic material: The didactic material presented in class is made available to the student in electronic format via the internet. This material will provide the guidelines for the in-depth analysis carried out during the lessons.
