  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Mechanical Engineering (cod. 0927)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student:

- knows the design process contextualized to various different sectors;

- knows at least three-dimensional modeling software for the processing of groups or complexes of machines designed to perform specific functions;

- knows the use of various calculation methods that make use of the calculator;

- knows the criteria for the assemblability and functioning of complex mechanisms;

- he is able to evaluate the reliability of the system;

- he is able to evaluate the maintenance procedure of the product.

Readings/Bibliography

It is not necessary to purchase specific texts. Updated teaching material is provided in class, also available through username and password at AMS Campus - AlmaDL - University of Bologna.

Teaching methods

The teaching consists of lectures and a project that is assigned to the individual student. Periodically the student verifies with the teacher the progress of the project and ges indications of possible improvements and corrections.

Assessment methods

The final exam aims to evaluate the achievement of the educational objectives:

- Knowledge of the design process

- Knowledge the main CAD / CAE design tools

- Knowledge the main validation criteria of a project,

by means of an oral test, on two specific questions on topics concerning the main objectives of the Course and on the evaluation of the individual project.

Teaching tools

The teaching material presented in class will be made available to the student in electronic format through the internet.
