Learning outcomes

- knowledge of physical processes (Physical Geography);

- knowledge of key-themes in Human Geograhy, Economic Geography, Political Geography;

- skills in the identification of natural and human features in a given landscape (with a specific focus on the Italian landscape);

- skills in using graphs, maps, satellite images, also in didactic contexts;

- awareness about local/global perspectives;

- active awareness about the concept of Sustainable Development and its application at Primary school and in pre-school contexts (Environmental Education).

Geomorphology and Climatology

The Landscape: Human and Natural Features

Issues in Human Geography and Political-Economic Geography (Population, Man-Environment Interactions, Economic Sectors, Themes of Political Geography).

The Tools of Geography: graphs, maps, satellite images

Didactics of Geography and Environmental Education

Lectures are given in Italian Language.

Assessment methods

Oral test.

Final score based on ../30 (18 is considered the minimum to pass the exam).

Inscription to the exam on Almaesami website.

If rejected at the exam, it is possible to have further chances.

For ERASMUS students only: possibility to arrange an oral exam in Italian Language.

Except for Erasmus students, before the final exam students should have to attend the geography workshop (in this case, attendance is compulsory, for 8 hours in total).

The workshop will be put under the general supervision of the professor, dealing with didactic themes linked to the course contents. The workshop will be evaluated: rejected (in this case the student must take part to a second workshop in the following academic year) or -1/0/+1 added or withdrawn from/to the score of the written test above mentioned.

A last workshop will take place in early July 2021.

The workshops in charge of Prof. Piastra will deal with man-woods interactions
