Learning outcomes

Against the Constitutional principles, the classes are aimed to provide students with knowledge of the legal framework relating to the evolution of the State intervention in the economic context.

At the end of the classes, students will be capable of: (a) singling out the main ways by which governments carry out their activities in the economic environment without necessarily refer them to market competition; (b) critically understanding the different legal tools and modes whereby to ensure the intervention of public authorities within the economy; (c) understanding the role of public administration, especially in the delivery of services of general interest.

Course contents

Against the EU law background, the classes are intended to shed light on public regulation of economic activities. In this respect, the legal forms that are applicable to the intervention of public authorities within the economic context and to their relationships with for profit and non profit organisations will be analysed. Particular attention will be devoted to health and social care services and to the different legal forms which are provided for their organisation and delivery.
