Teaching methods

During the hours of frontal teaching (34 hours, Aula Lanfranchi), computer presentations are used (Power Point). During practical hours (10 hours) the students attend the microscopic anatomy room (40 microscopes) and the anatomic room (8 tables) divided into shifts of about 20 students. The macroscopic anatomy involves the study and dissection of animals or organs of horses, cattle, pigs, carnivores and birds. During the exercises the students will be able to do dissection on organs such as: heart, larynx, trachea, bronchi, lungs, spleen. As far as the birds are concerned, the student can perform a dissection on a chicken and any non-domestic birds if available.

To access the Anatomical Room it is compulsory to wear a gown and boots (as an alternative the disposable shoe covers). When necessary, DPI will be provided that are suitable for the performance of the specifications (for example disposable gloves and goggles). Students with disabilities or DSA are invited to contact the teacher in order to better organize teaching and exams.

Assessment methods

The module is part of the Integrated Course: Systematic Comparative Veterinary Anatomy. The test consists of an oral test, preceded by the recognition of two histological preparations. The student will be asked a question for each device. The final grade results to be the arithmetic average of the two modules.

Teaching tools

Microscopic room for the observation of histological preparations, anatomic room for practical exercises on fresh preparations and dry preparations. Educational portal. The teaching material presented in class is made available to the student either directly in class or using the teacher's website.
