Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, the students should be able to: - know methodological approaches and tools of empirical and experimental research in the educational field; - outline, in its various phases, a project in the educational field; - know and apply monitoring tools and methodologies in the context of educational interventions; - analyze and evaluate, through appropriate methodologies and procedures, the processes and results of educational projects; - analyze and evaluative monitoring and research data in order to outline design hypotheses and improvements of educational interventions; - document, through appropriate presentations, research data elaborated in relation to predefined problems and hypotheses; - know and use tools for the collection and evaluation of qualitative and quantitative information on the educational system.

Teaching methods

A traditional method of providing the course will be adopted. For the management and implementation of activities will be privileged active modalities (interactive lessons, case studies, work group) with a continuous enhancement of direct experiences of students and their interactions.

Assessment methods

During classroom activities, formative evaluation moments are foreseen by returning feedback aimed at self-regulation and external regulation by peers and the teacher.

The final evaluation will be carried out by means of a written test (lasting two hours) structured with open-ended questions that require the elaboration of short essays.

To pass the written test students are asked not only the ability to understand the knowledge (declarative, procedural and situational) in the Dispensa on the platform but also the ability to apply them in simulated situations, to grasp their interconnections, to identify assumptions and consequences.

Criteria used to evaluate the written test are the following: 1) relevance of the contents to the topic presented in the application; 2) correctness of the information in relation to the material indicated for the preparation for the examination; 3) exhaustive information in relation to the information on the material indicated for the preparation for the exam; 4) integration - where possible - of information learned in other lectures; 5) personal reworking of the contents of the documents indicated for exam preparation.
