Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will have a preparation that allows him to diagnose periodontitis and gingival recessions and to treat cases of mild to moderate periodontitis requiring only non-surgical therapy. In particular, the student will be able to: • know the etiological factors and the pathogenesis of periodontitis • recognize the clinical signs of parondontitis and gingival recessions • diagnose the main forms of periodontitis • perform a radiological diagnosis of bone defects • recognize the indications to the non-surgical treatment • learn about non-surgical diagnosis and therapy tools • learn about periodontal supportive therapy • perform hygienic and maintenance therapy sessions.

Course contents

The course contentent includes: clinical and radiographic diagnosis, etiological therapy according to the treatment plan, indication of the use of manual and ultrasonic instruments, indications on the use of local antibotic, periodontal supportive therapy
