Learning outcomes

At the end of the seminar (closely related to the objectives of the degree course), students acquire specific skills and notions in order to deal with linguistic and/or philological and/or literary and/or historical and/or artistic issues and problems.

Course contents

British and American comics and its translation

The seminar (30 hours, with a compulsory 80% attendance) will be held by experts and translators of contemporary and classic British and American comics. The aim is to provide attendees with basic skills about comics and their translation.

It is not only a workshop but also an introduction to the languages and the history of the comics, with some lessons focused on translation.

Lectures and workshops. The active participation of students in classroom activities is essential for the achievement of educational goals.

Assessment methods

At the end of the seminar, students must submit a translation in order to obtain 3 cfu.
