Learning outcomes

At the end of the internship, the student acquires specific competences (handle complex information, apply critical and self-critical abilities, capacity of analysis and synthesis) related to the integration in a productive, business or institutional reality, by concretely experiencing its work organization modalities. In addition, the student acquires specific competences related to the company’s or institution’s sector, in which he/she is doing the internship and the ability to identify the most appropriate learning opportunities with respect to his/her abilities and inclinations.

Course contents

Internships consist of a work experience that can be carried out at organizations, companies, and other international partners (including international partner universities which offer job placement projects). International Partners regularly publish their offers in a special database that can be consulted by students. The procedure for activating an internship is described in detail in the website of the Second Cycle Degree in History and Oriental Studies (please read the instructions carefully):

https://corsi.unibo.it/magistrale/ScienzeStoricheOrientalistiche/tirocini-curriculari (in Italian)

There is also the possibility of carrying out an internship experience abroad in the framework of the ‘Erasmus+ Mobility for Traineeship’ programme which has its own different procedure and a specific call for which you can see the University web-page (see the same page for other opportunities for a vocational training period abroad):

Teaching methods

Internship is a work experience where methodologies to acquire and consolidate specific competences and skills are individually agreed for each student between the student, the host institution and the university tutor and are formalized in the internship program also called ‘Learning agreement for Traineeship’ within the Erasmus+ programme (see details in the web pages indicated above).

Assessment methods

Assessment of the Internship experience (and the thershold for the pass/non pass finale grade) is fixed individually in the internship program. The host institution will certify the activities carried out and complete an online survey questionnaire. Students are also required to complete a final questionnaire and briefly summarize the results of the experience to the responsible teacher according to what is contained in the instructions on the links above.
