Learning outcomes

To furnish the students with information and theoretical skills on diet and nutrition in the different human ages, where nutritional needs physiologically change.

To furnish arguments helping to understand the strong interconnection between nutrition and well-being, and between nutrition and disease

To develop the ability to autonomously apply the information aquired in order to implement the professional skills.

Course contents

- Epidemiology and clinical trials in nutrition: methodological basis

- Main concept of clinical nutrition applied to preventive medicine

- The "Mediterranean diet model": demonstrated effectiveness and criticism

- The short nutritional counceling

- Professional skills and clinical nutrition
