Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the tools needed to manage appropriately the treatments psychopharmacology. The course covers the fundamentals of clinical psychopharmacology, but are placed in the foreground aspects of security. In particular the training objectives are: a) knowledge and understanding: understanding receptor action and kinetics as well as directions, modes of use, efficacy and toxicity of the principal classes of psychoactive drugs. b) knowledge and understanding: the student should be able to formulate a psychopharmacological treatment program, including prevention and monitoring of collateral things, for the most common diseases found in the Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry. c) autonomy of judgement: the student must show ability to critically compare the sources of information and select the independent ones and unencumbered by potential conflicts of interest. d) communication skills: the student must be able to inform patients (or their parents in the case of minors) about various treatment options and share with them the custom project. and) learning: students must develop skills to enable them to further his education about these topics once completed the course.

At the conclusion of the course, students have to take an exam to verify learning through a final test consisting of 33 questions (11 questions for each teaching module that makes up the IC) multiple choice (4 possible choices and a correct answer) lasting 40 minutes without help of notes or books.


The mark will be given by the sum of the correct answers. Wrong answers will not be counted. The exam is considered positively passed starting from 18 correct answers (at least 6 correct answers in each of the three modules), corresponding to the score of 18/30.


Prerequisite for taking the exam is the attendance of at least 70% of the lessons.
