Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student has a reference framework on the marketing of agricultural and food products as well as on the strategies, the structure and organization and management of the agricultural and zootechnical firms. The student is able to have tools for planning and managing company activities and basic knowledge that allow the interpretation of the macro evolutions of the agri-food markets and of the institutional scenario involving the agri-food and zootechnical firms.

Course contents

The main features of the national and international food sector system. Tools for the analysis of the demand. Product differentiation tools (product life cycle, company policies and planning strategies). Tools for the analysis of the structure and business management. Business budget. Cost-benefit analysis for production choices

Teaching methods

Lectures and exercises for budget analysis. Students with special needs are invited to contact the teacher by e-mail in order to better organize teaching and exam procedures.

Assessment methods

The final exam consisting of a written test and an oral interview which verifies the achievement of the teaching objectives and verifies the acquisition of the knowledge required by the course program.

The final grade originates from the student's demonstration of having acquired the required knowledge and skills and the ability to link the various issues. The Student is required to analyze a corporate balance sheet and formulate guidelines for the contextualization of marketing strategies and at least 2 questions are asked, to arrive at the formation of the final vote expressed in 30ths.
