Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student has the knowledge and ability to manage and apply the specific devices for the pathologies of interest.

Course contents

The course aims to provide students with an overview of techniques, technologies and devices for the treatment of pathologies,  particularly concearning neurological deseases.

In particular, the following topics will be addressed:

  1. Approach to the design of advanced technical devices
  2. Overview of pathological conditions of the neurological patient
  3. Overview of pathological conditions of the amputee patient
  4. Advanced technical devices for the treatment of neurological and amputee patients:
    - Active exoskeletons for lower limb
    - Active prosthetic systems for upper limb
  5. CAD design bases for mechanics and electronics
  6. Advanced control techniques
  7. Traditional techniques of models production
  8. 3D scanning and printing technologies for models development
