Learning outcomes

The main objective of this course of Pharmacology is to provide basic knowledge on the following items:

  • phamacokinetics: absorption, metabolism, distribution and elimination of drugs; routes of administration and pharmacokinetic parameters;
  • pharmacodynamics: mechanisms of action of drugs, drug-receptor interaction, dose-response relationship;
  • therapeutic index and benefit-risk balance of drugs;
  • drug interactions and other factors modifying drug effects;
  • classes of drugs of interest in dentistry.
