Learning outcomes

After the course, the student has a deep knowledge of Italian grammar, in all its varieties. He/she makes the right stylistic choices with respect to the communicative context. He/she displays a solid competence in using the language, both orally and in its written variety.

Course contents

Course topics:

- coherence and cohesion,

- summeries and rewriting,

- techniques in order to collect and to organize the ideas,

- paragraph and «topic sentence»,

- using a dictionary,

- measuring text readability.

Calendar (the course timetable can be found on the Degree Programme website):

- Group 1: II period, I semester;
- Group 2: II period;
- Group 3: III period, II semester;
- Group 4: III period;
- Group 5: IV period.

- Group 6: non attending students.

1-5 groups: max 85 students admitted to each group. Duration: 20 hours in classroom.

Students whose mother tongue is not Italian must have a good knowledge of the Italian language, at least level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Erasmus or exchange students must contact the professor before the beginning of the course.

Teaching methods

Lectures, individual exercises, workshops, in a computer lab.

Assessment methods

Students will choose their path (attending or non attending) on  e-learning platform Moodle.

Upon successful completion of the required courseworks, students will receive a certificate of completion (idoneità).

Attending student's path: you are required to attend the course for at least 80% of the lesson time.
